The Queen City Social Club—the events and party wing of WOMM, The Radiator—is proud to present Record Club. Every other Saturday afternoon we set up our turntables at the Radio Bean and let the crowd be the DJ. The very first installation of Record Club goes down Saturday April 3, 2010 from 3 to 5 pm. All genres are welcome and you can even get on the mic to tell everyone why your song is your song. The only rules are that it’s got to be on vinyl (leave your iPod at home) and it can’t be super long so everyone gets their turn.
QCSC are not just a bunch of vinyl-loving Luddites. The whole Record Club will be broadcast live on The Radiator 105.9 FM WOMM-LP and recorded as a podcast for HYPERLINK "http://www.theradiator.org" www.theradiator.org.
Record Club is meant to give people the chance to explore and be exposed to new music. By flexing our multimedia muscle via The Radiator we can give the world a snapshot of what Burlington is listening to on a given afternoon.
Queen City Social Club presents Record ClubSaturday April 3. 3 to 5 pm. Bi-weekly thereafter.Radio Bean. 8 North Winooski Avenue, Burlington. You are the DJ. Bring your records.

"Boston-based quartet Jo Henley performs a modern mix of folk, rock, bluegrass, and country that their fans like to call "new roots." They're known for fun, rollicking sets filled with well-crafted original songs that often stretch out into boot-stompin' bluegrass territory and even jazzy improv jams. This is a crowd-pleasing ensemble that features singer/guitarist Andy Campolieto and lead guitarist and South Burlington native Ben Lee. The duo, together with drummer Mike Dingley and bassist Kent Stephens, have performed clubs, festivals, coffeehouses across the country."

Gypsy Reggae
Bio:
HannaH’s Field is growing good vibes. This gypsy reggae duo, fronted by
female vocalist, guitarist and percussionist, HannaH, created their unique
style when the two came together living in Portland, Oregon. HannaH and
her sidekick, Bongo Bliss, the gypsy Rasta that plays bass, African drums
and sings(often all at the same time), are spreading their
modern-hippie-Rasta-folk all over the country.
Their new release "Music Magic Medicine" is accompanied by a
vegetarian/vegan cookbook written by Chef Bliss who is a Nutritional
Healer and former owner of the restaraunt "Fabadesiac". The food we
ingest is the medicine that heals our bodies. The music we listen to
is the magic that heals our spirits.
“HannaH goes a cappella to showcase her award winning voice, evoking of a
blending of Joan Baez and Grace Slick or a somewhat subdued Janis.”
“HannaH*s Field’s latest recording, is a ‘gypsy reggae’ homage to the
optimist in us all, carrying the torch of the free love generation into a
new era.”

Torn Shorts started in June 2010 as Josh Grabert's studio project. Josh also started gigging solo at bars and clubs in the Providence area and all over New England. Over a year later Torn Shorts has formed into a full band including members of the band The Sun*Dried Alibi: Nick Molak (guitar/bass) and Brendan Tompkins (drums/percussion), who have been playing together in different bands since 2006.
Torn Shorts has re-worked the studio tracks to full band rockers, and the live shows also include new material the band has been working on together. The band is working hard at tightening their sound and has been booking shows in the New England area. Keep a look out for Torn Shorts coming to your town. You won't want to miss the show.
