We are Eight 02, a post-Bop contemporary jazz fusion group with a particular knack for improvisational risk-taking. Eight 02 is a collaboration between founding members of Picture This (Peter Engisch and Jerome Monachino) and current members of critically acclaimed Kilimanjaro (Lucas Adler and Chris Peterman). Our sound has been described as a mix of contemporary jazz with a decidedly fresh fusion flavor. With an emphasis on melodic architecture that is balanced by raw-spirited improvisation, Lou D'Antonio (Jazz Spectrum 104.7, WNCS The Point) said it best: “beyond category, beautiful; tremendously accessible and exciting.” We hope you agree.

Michael-Louis Smith - guitar/pedals
Guitarist and composer Michael-Louis Smith’s modern straight-ahead sound was influenced by many jazz greats, but is firmly rooted in originality. His unique style continues to evolve as he draws upon many genres of music and explores the possibilities which lie beyond. Michael moved to New York City area in 1999 to attend the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College where he studied with of many of today’s jazz luminaries. Since earning a Masters in Music in 2005 Smith resides in NYC and continues to compose music for and tour regionally and nationally with various ensembles.
Diallo A. House - bass
Diallo is a bassist/composer/artist hailing from Ithaca, New York. House began to cultivate his musical talent long before he received his first bass guitar at age twelve. His father Donald is also a bass player and like his dad, Diallo feels and knows the true role of the bass in any band situation, while always enhancing and progressing his musical ability.
Ismail Lawal - drums
Driven by a relentless curiosity, Ismail Lawal's playing happily avoids easy categorization. Lawal fell in love with jazz as a teen and immersed himself in the works of the music's most exemplary practitioners. More important than the raw information he gained from his study however, was the intellectual and cultural inquisitiveness which he saw as feeding the vitality of the music. Adopting this inclusive stance, Lawal has gone on to perform in a variety of musical settings, from various African-based traditions to singer-songwriter gigs, and myriad worlds in between.

Lost Trail: Lo-Fi Ambient From Burlington, NC
Lost Trail is an experimental, avant garde music project headed by the husband and wife duo of Zachary Corsa and Denny Wilkerson Corsa. Utilizing lo-fi and obsolete recording technology, such as tape recorders, microcassettes and reel-to-reel machines, as well as antique musical equipment, we hope to capture a sense of atmosphere and landscape, in both man-made and natural, wild environments. Our drones are built from extensive field recording and industrial sounds, guitar noise, and other experiments in sound. We record in the darker corners of our 101-year old historic home in Burlington, North Carolina, and the moods of this town and this house very much affect what we create. Common themes include faded industry, manmade decay, suburban sprawl, horror cinema, trains, the forest/mountains, the supernatural, winter, fall, photography, film, and the past/nostalgia. Zach also plays in the solo instrumental-folk project Snohomish.
Our work has been compared variously to the likes of Harold Budd, Brian Eno, John Cage, Tangerine Dream, Eluvium, Stars of the Lid, Flying Saucer Attack, David Wenngren, Beef Terminal, Trent Reznor's ambient works, the Constellation Records roster, and others. We have toured or performed with the likes of Delicate Sen, Rash, Night, Ag Ag Lady, Northern Valentine, Noose of Laurels, Colloquial Orchestra/Dave Watkins, PD Wilder/Hotel Hotel, Nobles, Arte Povera, Andrew Weathers/Andrew Weathers Ensemble, Xambuca, Joe Hendrix, Peripherals, Slicnaton, Powercloud, Matt Northrup, Pinetree Line, Three Brained Robot, The Child Forgives and Creates, Albert Adams, Flying Field, The Pointless Forest, Stems, No Eyes, Gentle Robot, Tall Fields, CJ Boyd, The Ascent of Everest, Capsule, Trey Mosley, DJ MDM-Hey, Sparkling Wide Pressure, Harboring Ghosts, Sunlight Ascending, Charming Relative, Presque Vu, S7Ghost, Eric Hall, Navigator, Megafauna, Yogurt Smoothness, Memphis Pencils, Guerilla Toss, Ryan Gregory Tallman, Former Selves, Pedestrian Deposit, Clodewerks, Unity Conscious, Jen Boyd, Brad Dermanouelian, Noisegate, Nomad 927, Auia, Proud Father, Attached Hands, Dark Sea of Awareness, Maximino, Four Fingers, Wall With One Side, Ami Dang, GioSafari, Crumb Catcher, Nick Coward & The Last Battle, Animal Alphabet, Red and Cross, Elements, Violent Stars, Antique Scream and others.

Bio
Good day to you. .. .. You have stumbled upon a musician by the name of Arte Povera. This is music that could be described as Organic Noise/Folk. Mr. Povera uses no effects in creating his noise, but relies simply on field recordings and other techniques. He is often seen playing live along his trusted Grafanola phonograph... .. .. Random comments I've received throughout my days - .. .. "It put me into a trance...i started thinking about things i hadn't thought about in years...thank you" .. -a nice lady fan .. .. "whoa man...that was crazy...reminded me of the time i overdosed in '73" .. -obvious 'nam vet .. .. "...I get in a trance then you scare me out of it." .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ......
