The Queen City Social Club—the events and party wing of WOMM, The Radiator—is proud to present Record Club. Every other Saturday afternoon we set up our turntables at the Radio Bean and let the crowd be the DJ. The very first installation of Record Club goes down Saturday April 3, 2010 from 3 to 5 pm. All genres are welcome and you can even get on the mic to tell everyone why your song is your song. The only rules are that it’s got to be on vinyl (leave your iPod at home) and it can’t be super long so everyone gets their turn.
QCSC are not just a bunch of vinyl-loving Luddites. The whole Record Club will be broadcast live on The Radiator 105.9 FM WOMM-LP and recorded as a podcast for HYPERLINK "http://www.theradiator.org" www.theradiator.org.
Record Club is meant to give people the chance to explore and be exposed to new music. By flexing our multimedia muscle via The Radiator we can give the world a snapshot of what Burlington is listening to on a given afternoon.

Band Bio: Putnam Murdock got his start as a professional musician touring with the successful rock and roll band Chief Broom. With Murdock as front man, the group achieved a slot on the 1997 H.O.R.D.E. tour, appeared in festivals at Red Rocks Amphitheater and sold out venues throughout the western U.S. Upon completion of this type of "music school of life" in 1999, Murdock attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated with a songwriting degree in 2002. Since then, Murdock has been performing across the country with artists such as Reed Foehl, Ben Taylor, Martin Sexton, Gregory Alan Isakov, William Topley, and Kaki King. In addition to his live performances, he has also established his songwriting career by co-writing songs that have been featured in the television shows Joan of Arcadia, Dawsons Creek, MTV's Made, and The Biggest Loser. In 2009, his debut album, "Fiction," along with the track Bright Future were placed on the Official Ballot for the Grammy Awards in five categories. Currently Murdock is recording music for several documentary films by Ken Burns as well as touring the northeast U.S. in support of his recent release, Brand New Widow, recorded at Dreamland Recording Studios in West Hurley, NY.

Band Bio:
At 22, Warwick’s Santina King is finding her own voice. King, a graduate of Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School and now current student at University of Southern Maine in Portland, is moving in unique directions with her voice and guitar phrasing. This young singer-songwriter composes mostly on guitar —building her intricate and rich musical compositions from scratch. King grew up in a music-rich environment. Her father Rick King, is an accomplished blues guitarist, and mom Tonia King is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Santina picked up the beat early in her household—studying and playing piano at age 6. But her passion for music really began to blossom when she picked up the acoustic guitar nine years back. One big influence on her acoustic leanings was the music of Ani DiFranco, who she still holds in the greatest esteem. Santina’s inner voice, musical role models—and the encouragement and the shared expertise from her family have helped set the stage for this new singer/songwriter to develop complex tunings and the unique voice she now infuses in all her original works.

Band Bio: Hotels & Highways is the cabin-grown music of Lisa Piccirillo, Patrick Thomas Cupples, and Erin "Syd" Sidney. Their highly acclaimed debut album "Lost River" earned them high acclaim in the music industry including a SXSW showcase with The Civil Wars and an Amazon.com editor's pick. The trio becomes a quartet on this tour with the addition of Mia Dyson, an Aria-winning Austrialian (that's their version of a Grammy) who has toured with the likes of Eric Clapton and Stevie Nicks. On this tour Mia plays bass with Hotels & Highways and they act as her backing band while she takes center stage.
