The Queen City Social Club—the events and party wing of WOMM, The Radiator—is proud to present Record Club. Every other Saturday afternoon we set up our turntables at the Radio Bean and let the crowd be the DJ. The very first installation of Record Club goes down Saturday April 3, 2010 from 3 to 5 pm. All genres are welcome and you can even get on the mic to tell everyone why your song is your song. The only rules are that it’s got to be on vinyl (leave your iPod at home) and it can’t be super long so everyone gets their turn.
QCSC are not just a bunch of vinyl-loving Luddites. The whole Record Club will be broadcast live on The Radiator 105.9 FM WOMM-LP and recorded as a podcast for HYPERLINK "http://www.theradiator.org" www.theradiator.org.
Record Club is meant to give people the chance to explore and be exposed to new music. By flexing our multimedia muscle via The Radiator we can give the world a snapshot of what Burlington is listening to on a given afternoon.
Queen City Social Club presents Record ClubSaturday April 3. 3 to 5 pm. Bi-weekly thereafter.Radio Bean. 8 North Winooski Avenue, Burlington.You are the DJ. Bring your records.
Anything goes, as long as it’s on vinyl.e)

Genre = Folk/Singer-Songwriter
Bio = Legend has it that his songs can unlock the door to all of life's mysteries. They have on different occasions forced an eclipse of the sun, led sworn enemies to make out, and altered the space time continuum (like when you're looking at a polaroid of your family and you realize your brother's head has been erased). They also have made people smile, confused and teary eyed. Come hear for yourself.

Essential Machine
Genre: Indie Folk
Band Bio: Essential Machine is RJ and Karen Dietrich.

In 2007, they moved from Florida to the Pittsburgh, PA area, and the change of locale inspired the duo to start making music together professionally (they'd been harmonizing, literally and metaphorically, since they married in 2001).

In the living room of a tiny apartment, Essential Machine wrote and recorded their first EP, Find the Harmony. It was released in June 2009, and they had more fun than should be allowed by law while touring the south in support of the record.

RJ Dietrich spent his childhood in the woods of Florida studying classical piano. At the age of 13 he picked up a guitar and began writing songs, playing in several bands around Naples and eventually Tampa. A transplant to the hills of Pennsylvania, he owns and operates Blue Sofa Studios, where he is currently recording several debut EPs for emerging artists.

In addition to being in Essential Machine, Karen Dietrich is a poet and writer. Her writing has appeared in several national journals, in addition to a chapbook, Anchor Glass, published in 2011. For more information, please visit karendietrich.net.

Essential Machine has just released their second EP Lonely Telephone, written and recorded in a different living room and they're hitting the road again to share music with friends, old and new.
